On November 22, 2017, the conference “La ricerca va in scena: politiche in azione: presentazione di progetti e risultati di attività di ricerca condotta in Toscana”, was held in Florence.

During the morning session, projects and results of the research activities conducted in Tuscany has been  presented. Research projects, carried out in collaboration with companies, universities and public and private research centers in Tuscany, include: new technologies in the energy sector, with particular reference to energy saving and renewable sources, and the integrated technology platform for optoelectronics , photonics, ICT, robotics and other related enabling technologies.

The project “INTESA: Servizi ICT Integrati per il benessere dei soggetti fragili” was presented at the conference. The project is carried out by two companies, Kell s.r.l. and Esa System s.r.l. with the support of CNR-IIT research – Institute of Computer Science and Telematics and CNR-ISTI – Institute of Information Science and Technology. It was also realized with the decisive contribution of the Tuscany Region the Regional Implementation Program co-funded by FAS (now FSC) and the contribution to the FAR funds made available by MIUR.

INTESA is a suite of personal and personalized services for the fragility of people designed with integrated customizable technologies, wearable and environmental sensors and personal mobile devices. The services are modular and independent with a common interface to a data collection and analysis software platform that can identify early vulnerability conditions in risk subjects and prevent aggravation by identifying changes in the functional, cognitive, and psychological-affective status of subject.

Security, responsibility, innovation were the themes of the Forum dedicated to “Innovation and Sustainability of Care: the South Proposals” held at the Fiera del Levante di Bari. The program offered different contexts of comparison on topics of interest to all healthcare professionals and citizens by offering the opportunity to know more in detail what is happening in the public health context.

During the conference, main interest was aroused by the telemedicine and domiciliary session coordinated by the General Manager ASL Lecce Silvana Melli and by the ASL General Manager Brindisi Giuseppe Pasqualone.

Cesare Aragno (CTO- Kell) represented TBS Group, one of the most important active groups in this field. A reality with a turnover of 200 million, 2,000 employees, 930,000 monitored patients, a teleassistance contract for the Veneto Region, a system for monitoring transplanted patients and then initiating a protected discharge for ISMETT in Palermo.

Kell collaborated on the project “TENECO –Sistema di Supporto alla TeleNeurochirurgia”  implemented in the Lazio Region and co-financed by the Regional Operational Program of the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013 (POR FESR 2007-2013). The project is one of the 60 projects co-financed by the European Union’s Structural and Investment Funds at the heart of the communication campaign implemented by the Territorial Cohesion Agency and the European Commission Representation in Italy, with the collaboration of all the Managing Authorities of the National and Regional Operational Programs to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the sign of the Treaties of Rome.

The initiative is part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome. A narration of images which aims to highlight and tell the concrete achievements of European policies in Italy, improving the knowledge and perception of the EU funding utility. To prove that, after all, Europe has existed and has been caring for us for more than 60 years.

The TENECO project developed and integrated specific software and protocols – in support of the neurosurgery and neurology sector – that can store, classify, research and process for medical, clinical and surgical purposes all patient data (from hospital to the final outcomes, including the rehabilitation phase). With these innovative, automated and computational analysis tools, the physician can take full advantage of the enormous scientific heritage represented by clinical data and digital images, optimizing the use of resources and healthcare.

The Final Conference has been the occasion to present the results of the ITACA (Innovation Technologies and Applications for Coastal Archaeological sites) project. ITACA proved  a web-based management system for underwater archaeological sites in coastal regions combining the most advanced techniques of high resolution satellite images elaboration with processing algorithms integrated into the Web GIS. All the technologies are optimized for archaeological uses, thus enabling the provision of a location and monitoring service for underwater archaeological sites in coastal zones

Roma, 13 luglio 2015

It has just completed a massive campaign to study the archaeological sites of Metohi and Glaros , in the marvelous Gulf Pagasitikos , in eastern Greece .

The relief is part of the ambitious research project ITHACA (Innovation Technologies and Applications for Coastal Archaeological sites) funded by the FP7 of the European Community , which is developing an innovative tool that uses satellite images combined with processing algorithms and advanced techniques for GIS identify areas of potential interest from the point of view of marine archeology . Once developed this tool will optimize the management and care of underwater archaeological finds , as well as to detect new ones.

The survey just completed will lead to detailed mapping and cataloging of one of the most fascinating archaeological Greece .

Has been used the latest tools : multibeam echo sounders for accurate as- backdrop and sunken objects ; Subbottom profiler for the study of the first layers of the seabed; an interferometric sonar to study hard water very low ( even 50 cm ) . Other measurements were taken by the expert teams of divers . The results of these surveys will be integrated with the technologies adopted by Ithaca ( satellite imagery and high rioluzione radar and optical image processing algorithms and techniques GIS ) and used to validate and develop the new service .

In September, a similar survey will be done in the Egadi ( western Sicily ) .

Within the SMAU in Naples it will be able to appreciate the technologies used in the program of telecommunications to health (TELESAL) commissioned by the Italian Space, which aims to implement healthcare applications that require satellite communication. In particular, the application will be presented which provides innovative technologies in the countryside of mammography screening on mobile satellite clinics. In fact, the exhibition hall will be open to the mobile unit, now forces the fleet in the second hospital in Naples undertaken by several organizations of the Aerospace District of Campani: Federico II University (Department of Oncology DEOMC), by some companies of the consortium ALI (Euro.Soft Ltd. and TES Ltd.) and the leader Kell srl The surgery is equipped with advanced equipment that allow the acquisition of mammographic examinations and to transfer the exams in real time to a service center that makes possible the Remote reading. The mammography machine used is digital direct drive and implements technology absorbing scatter grids which allows the acquisition of high-resolution images at low radiation and thus reducing side effects for patients.

The next European mission Sentinel-2 has reached a significant milestone with respect to its goal of producing optical image resolution for monitoring changes on the ground. After seven years of work, the best product technology imagine is ready to go on the first satellite.

While many scientists and members met recently to discuss the many applications that Sentinel will make possible, the engineers at Airbus and Space defense in Germany were working on the delivery of the device to capture multispectral images.

Participants in the scientific workshop on the Sentinel-2, held in Italy last week, were thrilled to learn that years spent in the development, assembly and testing of this tool, have produced an object that will completely transform our ability to understand as the soil is used. Sentinel-2A will be launched by the end of April 2015, while Sentinel-2B a year later.

Currently Sentinel-2A is being integrated into the satellite platform, the first of an extensive phase of testing at Monaco and delivery to ESA for launch from the base in French Guiana.
